The person behind Lenz Automotive KI
Frank Lenz. The practitioner first. Then the AI.
26 years an owner, 40 years in the motor trade. Today an AI strategy consultant for dealerships across the DACH region.

The path
From the ramp to AI strategy.
Frank Lenz did not study the motor trade, he ran it. Four decades in the business, 26 of them as an owner — the processes he talks about today are ones he was responsible for himself.
It started in the workshop, not the office. Anyone who has stood at the ramp knows why a process that works on paper fails in daily work — and why a master technician has no time for a tool that first creates work for him.
The trade turned into leadership: 26 years as an owner, with everything that comes with it — stock, margin, staff, succession. That is where the experience came from that makes the difference today: knowing where money is actually left on the table instead of guessing.
The AI came last, and deliberately in that order. Practice first, then the tool — not the other way round. That is exactly where most rollouts fail: they start with the technology and look for the problem afterwards.
The business
Autohaus Lenz. 26 years as the owner.
Frank Lenz ran and built up a mid-sized multi-brand dealership in Oelde-Stromberg over decades — carrying the Škoda, Mazda and Kia franchises.
In that time he was responsible for every area: vehicle sales, workshop organisation, financial and staff management, marketing and the digitalisation of day-to-day processes. Under his leadership the business grew into a regionally established name with a loyal customer base and above-average sales figures.
In the 2000s he expanded with branches in Gütersloh, Ahlen and Bielefeld, added Kia in 2006 and opened a Škoda dealership in Oelde-Stromberg in 2011. Between 2014 and 2016 he realigned the business strategically, sold the branches and concentrated on the main site — focusing on efficiency, closeness to the customer and digitalisation.
In 2025 Frank Lenz sold the dealership to the Autohaus Mense group and redirected his experience: to Lenz Automotive KI.

- Strategic management with an eye on profitability and efficiency
Proving grounds
Steered through every crisis.
Four decades in the motor trade also means having steered through every crisis. That experience is the foundation of today's consulting.

What we hold to
Practice, not theory
We know the business from the inside, not from a case study.
Entrepreneur's mindset
Decisions are counted in money, not in features.
Clarity in complexity
We translate technology into processes your team understands.
Leadership first
Without backing from management, no rollout goes anywhere.
AI with a purpose
No tool because it is new — only if it pays off.
Results without extra work
What we build must not add load to your team.
Honest up front
Who this fits — and who it does not.
Working together is only worth it if something is different afterwards. So here is also when you can save yourself the call.
It fits if you …
- want to implement, not just listen.
- are willing to change a process when the figures say so.
- want an honest assessment, even when it is “not worth it”.
- carry the topic in management rather than only delegating it.
It does not fit if you …
- want to hear a talk but change nothing.
- expect AI to improve something without the team taking part.
- are looking for confirmation of a decision already made.
- want the fastest tool rather than the right one.
What customers say
What dealerships say about the work.
